The Railway Trail
Throughout the year the Department continued to make strides in carring out its programme of improvement works to the Railway Trail.  Improvements to accessibility, resurfacing, the extensive removal of invasive species and replanting were completed at Francis Patton School, Evan's Pond and Barnes Corner.

Major work is under way along the foreshore at Shelly Bay to re-establish the pedestrian link between the beach at the eastern end and the old Station Building to the west.  The total cost of $419,000 is being funded from the Ministry's Capital Development budget designated for environmental improvements.
